Christopher’s Story
When times get tough it is easy for us to complain about how things are going. We have all been guilty of that. Brittney and I are trying to focus on how many blessings we have from God to be thankful for.
Yesterday, Brittney was talking to one of her close friends Kaki Hurley. Kaki has a 17 year old cousin named Christopher. Christopher had been battling leukemia for quite sometime. He eventually beat the Leukemia, but the complications of the side effects from all the chemotherapy and different treatments have taken a toll on his poor body. He has been at St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis for a long time battling for his life. His doctors told him a couple days a go that he had 4 to 7 more days to live.
Christopher decided he wanted to take all the wires and tubes off of his body and spend his last days with his family. He was told by his mom and dad that he could choose anything he wanted to do and they would make it happen for him. Christopher decided he wanted a stretch Limo to pick he and his family up from the Hospital and take them to his favorite restaurant.
(Red Lobster)
As Christopher was leaving the hospital, the doctors and nurses that had grown so close to him over the past months, were waiting outside for him. As Christopher was leaving the Hospital the doctors and nurses showered him with cheers and confetti while tears streaming down there faces, and off they went to Red Lobster.
As far as I know Christopher is still living. I can not imagine what he and his family are going through. I do not know the names of his mom and dad, but let’s say a special prayer for Christopher and his family. They really need to feel God’s comfort right now. Kaki told Brittney that Christopher’s father is struggling very, very badly. So let’s continue to remember him through these tough times.
All of you reading this mean so much to Brittney and I, and know you are the kind of folks that will shower this family with prayer.
Britt and I are so thankful to have our 2 boys here with us after hearing this story. This helps us realize to enjoy time you have with your family and friends and make the most of it.
I will try to get names of Christopher’s mom and dad and an address so we can send words of encouragement to this heartbroken family.
We love you all.
Tim, Britt, Cooper, and Christian
